Funeral services were held on Monday, November 19, 1984 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa for JoAnn Fobian, 39, of Waterloo, who died early Friday, November 16, 1984, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Rev. Arno Melz officiated at the service with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar Falls.

JoAnn Tibbits was born on March 3, 1945 in McIntire, Mitchell county, Iowa, the daughter of Harvey E. and Hazel Van De Walker Tibbits. She attended school in McIntire and following her graduation she moved to Waterloo.

On May 23, 1965, she was united in marriage to Arnold C. Fobian at the Methodist church in McIntire. Following the couples marriage they returned to Waterloo where they made their home.

JoAnn was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Waterloo and was also an advisor to the Explorer Post No. 512 in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold C.; one son, Arnold of Waterloo; one sister, Linda Retterath of Riceville and two brothers, Dennis Tibbits of Riceville and James Tibbits of Cresco.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
