EVANSDALE - Rose E. Holton, 95, of Evansdale, died Sunday, Jan. 22, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 9, 1916, in Aplington, daughter of Albert and Emma VanLengen Johnson. She married Kenny Holton on Feb. 23, 1957, in Caledonia, Minn. He died Oct. 18, 1993.

Mrs. Holton was employed at Powers Manufacturing as a cutter until retiring in 1978. She was a lifetime AMVETS Auxiliary member. She also volunteered at the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, for eight years and also with RSVP.

Survived by three sons, Jerry (Judy) Bodecker of Waterloo, Russ Bodecker of Evansdale and Nordine Bodecker of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.; two daughters, Sheridan Redfearn of Evansdale and Karen (Bob) Thompson of San Benito, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Johnson of Littleton, Colo.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Treva Holton; four brothers and three sisters.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, where visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Rose enjoyed camping, hockey, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles with Kenny. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
