WATERLOO - David Edward Cole Sr., 74, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Country View.

He was born March 19, 1937, in Dubuque, son of Dave and Elsie Cole. He married Berdine Sass, and they later divorced. He married Sylvia Sheridan in 1979 in Waterloo.

Mr. Cole is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed with Red Rock Construction, the Illinois Central Rail Road and John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works.

Survived by his wife; a son, David (Ann) Jr. of Waterloo; a daughter, Sherry of Waterloo; a stepson, Charles (Sherry) Sheridan of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Johnson of Jamestown, N.Y.; a stepbrother, Ernie (Pat) of Waterloo; and a special friend, Mindy Darragh of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Charles; and a sister, Bev.

Public visitation: from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Country View, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek Township. There will be no services.

Memorials may be made to the family.
