Janice Ruth Crawford, 82, of Cedar Falls died Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at the Sentara Care Plex in Hamtpton, Virginia.

Janice was born March 6, 1924, in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Gale B. and Mary A. Jennings Harrison. On July 21, 1945, she was united in marriage to J. Vincent Crawford in Rowley, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1996.

Janice received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Upper Iowa University at Fayette. She was employed in sales at B.E. Mick's Women's Wear, and later worked for Hallmark. She was past Worthy Matron of Cedar Falls Chapter #78 Order of Eastern Star and held the position of Mother Advisor of Cedar Falls Assembly Rainbow for girls.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat (James) Meyer of Hampton, VA.; two grandsons, Christopher (Melinda) and Nicholas (Sally) Meyer of Portland, OR; and two great-grandchildren, Lila and Olive Meyer, also of Portland.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin sons at birth, and a sister, Jeanette Wright.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, with interment in the Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, where family will receive friends from 5 to 7. There will be a 7 p.m. Public Eastern Star service Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church.
