CEDAR FALLS - Dorothy M. Wellmann, 86, of Oelwein, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Oct. 6, at Grandview Health Care Center, Oelwein.

She was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Allison, daughter of Ray and Margaret Gersema Mehmen. She married Werner P. Wellmann July 25, 1942, at St. John American Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1982.

She had been employed by the Cedar Falls Community Credit Union until her retirement in 1991.

Survived by a son, Edwin (Cindy) of Center Point; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Wellmann of Cedar Falls; two grandsons, Kevin Wellmann of Raymore, Mo., and Darrin Wellmann of Cedar Falls; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by a son, Irwin; four brothers, Jake, Marion, Henry and Raymond Mehmen; and two sisters, Christina Benning and Gertrude Benning.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Nazareth Lutheran Church chapel, with inurnment at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. She donated her body to the University of Iowa department of anatomy.
