Jonathan Wayne Dana died Thursday, October 5, 2006, in Waterloo.was born on May 18, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Robert and Donna (Blacksmith) Dana. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1975.

John was employed by Garden of Memories for twenty years until retiring in 2002, due to medical reasons. John was formerly a member of the Waterloo Eagles and Falling Rock Walleye Club. In his free time, he loved to fish.

He is survived by three sisters, Jeannette (Bill) Achenbach of Cedar Falls, Kathleen (Joe) Begley of Waterloo, and Kris (Scott) Begley of Cedar Falls; a brother, Leonard (Robin Bloeser) Dana of Waterloo; four nieces and nephews, Zac and Lindsey Barclay, Dana and Kayla Begley; one great-niece, Devan Winkie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and a nephew, Jason Barclay.
