Funeral services for D. Ira Harmon 92, of Colonial Manors, LaPorte city, were held on Friday, December 7, 1979 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Wesleyan Church. Rev, Gary Brewster officiated.
Mr. Harmon died on Tuesday, December 4, 1979.
He was born on January 31, 1887 in Spring Creek Township the son of David Harmon and Mary Jefferies. On January 30, 1913 he married Amy Riggle in Waterloo, Iowa. They farmed their entire life.
He is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Mabel Purdy, La Porte City; 2 sisters, Laura Christian, Mason City and Eva Powers, La Porte City as well as 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 brother and 6 sisters.
Pallbearers were Jerry Neuman, Marlin Powers, Gary Purdy, Lee Purdy, Dennis Rottinghaus and Paul Walker.
Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
