Charles David Henry, 70, of 1932 Locke Ave., died Wednesday (Sept. 27) at Covenant Medical Center at Kimball Avenue, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Jan. 17, 1919, at Rock Island, Ill., son of Floyd and Dolly Harmon Henry. He married Juanita Christopher Feb. 20, 1943, in Waterloo.

Mr. Henry was lead man at the Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp., retiring in 1982. He was past president of International Association of Machinists.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David of Waterloo; two daughters, Janice Carey of Kansas City, Mo., and Judith Moorman of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; a brother, Derald; and a sister, Thelma Klatt, both of Waterloo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call at Chapel of Memories-West Funeral Home from 2 to 9 p.m. and for one hour preceding services at the church. The family will receive friends fro 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Black Hawk Chapter of the American Cancer Society or Grace United Methodist Church.
