WATERLOO - Bonita L. "Bonnie" Meaney, 82, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Manor Care Health Services.

She was born June 20, 1929, in Troy Mills, daughter of Harry and Lillie Hurst Peyton. She married John J. Meaney on May 10, 1952, in Independence.

Mrs. Meaney worked as a bookkeeper for Leytze's Finance Co., Independence, and as a secretary for Hughes Insurance, Waterloo. She also was a homemaker.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Sheryl A. Meaney of Dubuque; a son, James M. (Rose) of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and a sister.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo, with burial in St. John's Cemetery, Independence. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
