LOCATION: Cedar Falls, IowaHelen R.* Flannery, 90, of Cedar Falls Health Care Center, died there Monday, Aug. 7.
She was born Feb. 15, 1916, in Iowa City, daughter of James H. and Sophia Groh Laughlin. She married Clifford Flannery June 30, 1951, in Cedar Rapids. He died Feb. 26, 2000.
Mrs. Flannery farmed with her husband, and then worked at the Woolworth Store and J.C. Penney, both in Iowa City, in the Cedar Falls School System and cleaned homes in Cedar Falls.
Survived by a son, James (Suzanne) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Mary (Steve) Brown of The Colony, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, James and Earl Laughlin; and three sisters, Margaret Strohmeyer, Marie Maher and Wilma Laughlin.
