WATERLOO - Harriet P. Koester, 89, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 7, in her home at Ridgeway Place.

She was born Feb. 1, 1922, in rural Cedar Falls, daughter of Harry and Sara Jeffers Vaughn. She married Delbert Koester June 9, 1946, in Waterloo. He died May 10, 1996.

Survived by three sons, Steve (Mona) and Jerry (Nancy), all of Cedar Falls, and Mike of Waterloo; three sisters, Ruth Krumlinde, Betty Beaudoin and Helen (Sparky) Svien, all of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Corwin, Grace Mills and Alice Roever; and a grandson, Ben Koester.

Private family graveside services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home.
