WATERLOO - Carole DeLapp Showers, 73, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Windsor Nursing Home in Cedar Falls.

She was born March 4, 1938, in Waterloo, daughter of Carl and Mabel Francis DeLapp. Later to be the stepdaughter of Connie DeLapp. She married Robert Kingsley in 1957, and they later divorced. She remarried twice and later divorced.

She was as a shipping clerk at Woolworth Department Store and Peppermill.

Survived by three daughters, Tammy Frohn of Jesup, and Jean Boehmer and Rhonda (Eric) Pillow, both of Waterloo; two sons, Robert (Wendy) Kingsley of Yelm, Wash., and John Kingsley of Nashua; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents and stepmother; two uncles; a brother, Darrell DeLapp; and a grandson, David Kingsley.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and also for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

She will be remembered for her jokes, strength and passion for all her family.
