WATERLOO - Ralph H. Grady, 88, of Friendship Village, died Thursday, May 29, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born May 1, 1920, in Waterloo, son of Charles and Mary Miller Grady. He married Anna Mae Deits on Sept. 21, 1942, at Grace Brethren Church, Waterloo. She died Jan. 2, 2004.

Mr. Grady graduated from Orange High School in 1938. He owned and operated Grady Farms Dairy, Inc.

Survived by two daughters, Donna Mae (Tom) Miller of Winona Lake, Ind., and Betty Anne (Kyle) Bergen of Dallas, Ga.; two sons, Tom (Jane) of Alpharetta, Ga., and Jim (Jeanette) of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife, a brother, Lawrence; and a sister, Bernita Chisum.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Brethren Church, with burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Friendship Village.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Grady
To Celebrate Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Grady will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, August 9th, with an open house from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Grace Brethren Church, 1769 Williston Avenue, Waterloo.

Ralph Grady, born May 1, 1920 in Orange Township, is the son of the late Charles Grady and Mary Grady. Ralph grew up on the family farm located on West Shaulis Road south of Waterloo.

Anna Mae Diets, born December 19, 1923 in Waterloo, is the daughter of the late Lewis and Bernice Deits. Anna Mae grew up on South Street in Waterloo.

Ralph and Anna Mae were married on September 21, 1943 by Rev. J. C. Beal, at the Grace Brethren Church in Waterloo. They moved into a home on Ansborough until they moved into a new home on Kimball, and then later traded homes with Ralph's parents moving back to the home farm on West Shaulis and Ansborough. The Grady's live on the home farm, farming and running Grady Farms Dairy, until they moved to their present home at 1168 Ridgemont Road, Waterloo, in 1980, at which time their son Jim moved to the home farm and took over the management of it.

Mr. and Mrs. Grady bought the property on the corner of Fifth and Jefferson in Hudson, and built the Hudson House in 1987, which was originally to be a dairy store.

Ralph and Anna Mae have four children, who with their spouses, are hosting the open house celebration for their parents. Donna Mae and Tom Miller of Winona Lake, Indiana; Tom and Jane Aeby Grady of Apharetta, Georgia; Jim and Eileen Mendenhall Grady of Waterloo; and Betty Anne and Kyle Bergen of Dallas, Georgia. The Grady's have 13 grandchildren.

No invitations are being sent and the couple requests no gifts.
