EVANSDALE - Kelsey Rae Lee, 21, of Evansdale, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a long illness with cancer.

She was born Feb. 15, 1990, in Waterloo, daughter of Randy Lee and Lynette Lee McNamee.

Ms. Lee graduated from Waterloo East High School in 2008 and from the medical secretary program at Hawkeye Community College in 2010. She worked for the Waterloo Softball Association in the concession stands and as a scorekeeper and for the Waterloo School District in the dietary office. She was a volunteer with the Big E Booster Club at East and was a tutor/mentor at Bunger Middle School.

Survived by her mother and father, both of Evansdale; two sisters, Nicole (Tim) Gray of Raymond and Stephanie Lee (Bryan Schmitt) of Waterloo; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Ashlyn, Kason and Emersyn; maternal grandmother, Marion Odom of Waterloo; and paternal grandmother, Janice Lee (Tom Holbach) of Gilbertville.

Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Kenny Morris; paternal grandfather, Gary Lee; and uncles, Stan Minikus and Ron Hockey.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Evansdale, with burial at a later date in Waterloo Memorial Cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a later donation to Children's Cancer Research Fund "Because no child should have to live this life!"

Kelsey enjoyed shopping, hanging with her friends and spending time on Facebook. Her family was everything. As she lived life to the fullest, she never complained about her situation but was concerned about those around her.
