CEDAR FALLS - Earl A. Brinkman, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Dec. 23, at the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center.

He was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Kesley, son of John C. and Olive Durand Brinkman. He married Retha M. Yates June 24, 1961, in Posen, Ill. She died April 5, 1980.

Mr. Brinkman served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed in maintenance at the Cedar Falls Post Office and then at the Waterloo Post Office, retiring in 1978.

Survived by a daughter, Annette Sherwood of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Clinton and Colton Sherwood; and a brother, Merle.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and John; and a sister, Lorraine Lewis.

Private graveside Services: were held in Fairview Cemetery.
