WATERLOO - Maggie D. Gary, 97, of Waterloo, died Monday, Dec. 26, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1914, in Goodman, Miss., daughter of Silas and Laura Walker Mabry. She married Roosevelt Gary on Nov. 3, 1934, in Kosciusko, Miss.

Mrs. Gary owned and operated a family restaurant in Goodman until she retired and moved to Waterloo in 1994. She was a member of St. Mark's Missionary Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

Survived by a daughter, Elma Clark of Waterloo; three sons, Willie (Ann), Charles (Patricia) and Mac, all of Waterloo; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Hogsett of Carthage, Miss.

Preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Charlie Marie Davison; a son, Roosevelt II; a great-grandson, Archie Parker; a stepson, James Gary; five sisters, Georgia Gary, Hattie Carson, Marie Taylor, Emma Butler and Luberta Love; and three brothers, Henry, Haward and Charlie Mabry.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mark's Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Visitation also 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Winter Funeral Home, Kosciusko, Miss., with burial to follow in St. Mark's Baptist Cemetery, Goodman.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 923 Steely St., where they will receive friends.
