CEDAR FALLS - Margery G. Standley, 94, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 25, at Rose Medical Center, Denver.

She was born July 29, 1917, in Stockport, daughter of Walker A. and Neva E. Beidman Johnston. She married Harlan Standley on July 3, 1938, in Ottumwa. He died Feb. 24, 2005.

Mrs. Standley graduated from Stockport High School and attended Parsons College, Fairfield. She taught in rural one-room schools in the Stockport area, and later was a homemaker, seamstress and worked in the resource center at Cedar Falls High School. She was a member of the Cedar Falls Chapter No. 78 of O.E.S., where she was Worthy Matron in 1965 and Grand Esther in 1968. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by a daughter, Shelley Bridge (Dennis Brachfeld) of Denver; a grandson, Alex Brachfeld of Denver; two nieces, Karen Hemann of Iowa City and Ann (Terry) Novotny of Walker; two nephews, John (Laura) Hemann of Cedar Rapids and Bill (Jean) Orr of Minneapolis; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; and extended family, Rita and Joe Galloway.

Preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hemann.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, where there will be a 7 p.m. public O.E.S. service. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Western Home Foundation, or Estarl, P.O. Box 72, Knoxville 50138.
