WATERLOO - Donald R. Jacobson, 82, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Dec. 25, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

He was born June 4, 1929, in Davenport, son of Elroy and Edna Goddard Jacobson. He married Norma Buchan on Dec. 31, 1955, in Nashua. She died Nov. 5, 2008.

Mr. Jacobson was employed at John Deere & Co. for more than 27 years before retiring.

Survived by a son, Dewayne (Sandy) of Waterloo; a daughter, Debbie (Shane) Jacobson of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlyn (Robert) Charlton of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Donald enjoyed fishing, going for rides in the car and watching CNN on TV.
