WATERLOO — Paul B. Loomis, 98, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Dec. 23, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

He was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Vinton, son of John and Amy Baker Loomis. He married Frances Mauser, and they later divorced. He married Margaret "Meg" Stultz Nov. 6, 1962, in Boulder, Colo.

Mr. Loomis graduated from West High School and from Gates Business College. He worked as a draftsman at John Deere and later became a real estate broker and sold insurance as Loomis Real Estate and Loomis Insurance. He retired in 1992.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Waterloo Masonic Lodge No. 105 A.F. & A.M. He was treasurer of the Waterloo Lodge for more than 25 years, a member of Scottish Rite, Knights of Pythias, El Mecca Shrine, and Hi-Twelve. He was also a member of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Board of Realtors and Toastmasters.

Survived by his wife, Margaret, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Shirley Main of, West Allis, Wis., and Susan (Jim) Mapes of, Ankeny; four grandchildren, Jeff Main, Julia (Kevin) McArthur, Alyson Overton and Michelle (Kenny) Loder; six great-grandchildren, Joshua and Sophia McArthur, Ella and Olivia Overton and Abigail and Andrew Loder; and caregivers, Ken (Cheryl) Schwake of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Kathryn B. Loomis; and a half sister, Minnie I. Gates.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Waterloo First United Methodist Church , with a 10:15 a.m. Masonic service by Waterloo Lodge No. 105 A.F. & A.M., with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
