WATERLOO - Johnnie Ray Day, 50, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, died Dec. 17, at home. Cause of death pending an autopsy report.

He was born April 19, 1961, in Waterloo, son of Sammie Day Jr. and Minnie Pearl Evans.

He was a distributor of restaurant and janitorial supplies for Lagssie Inc. in Arlington, and was a radio broadcaster in Texas.

Survived by his father and stepmother, Sammie Day Jr. and Annie Louise Day of Waterloo; a son, Ashon Denton of Waterloo; four daughters, Raychelle, Raylah, and Jasmine, all of Arlington, and Alaina of Brownsville, Texas; two sisters, Sherrie (Rev. Rudy) Jones and Tina, all of Waterloo; two brothers, David of Los Angeles and Perry (Valerie) of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Dayshon, Mariah, Samara and Shayla; two uncles, Johnny Lee Evans of Kosciusko, Miss., and Ron (Cora) Turner of Waterloo; two aunts, Earline Martin of Buckeye, Ariz., and Ida Mae Brooks of Clinton, Miss.; three nieces, Amber, Ashley and Jaida Pearl; and three nephews, Marlando, Jaleel and Jalen.

Preceded in death by his mother; his maternal and paternal grandparents; two aunts; and two uncles.

Memorial services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Payne A.M.E. Church, Waterloo. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 208 Conger St. Waterloo, where they will be receiving friends.
