WATERLOO - Robert J. "Bob" Galligan, 91, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Allen Hospital.

He was born April 26, 1920, in Lawler, son of Vincent and Myrtle Kane Galligan. He married Marie Kobliska Nov. 15, 1952, in Dubuque.

Mr. Galligan served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an accountant for several car dealerships in the area for 35 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Joseph (Nancy) of Brea, Calif., and Dr. Donald (Doreen) of Anaheim, Calif.; five grandchildren, Pat Galligan, Megan Galligan, Matthew Galligan, Madison Galligan and Shannon Van Malsen; a great-granddaughter, Madeline Betz; two brothers, Bill of Rochester, Minn., and George of Yuba City, Calif.; and a sister, Mary Bode of Rochester, Minn.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery at St. Cecilia Church, Alta Vista. Full military rites will be conducted at the church by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church.
