WATERLOO - Bernadine "Bernie" A. Gardner, 90, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 15, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born March 22, 1921, in Garrison, daughter of William Otto Denny and Mildred Arlene Barkdoll. She married Alfred R. Gardner May 24, 1938. He died Feb. 16, 1993.

She was a homemaker, and also assisted her husband in the operation of their gas station in Evansdale. She attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Evansdale.

Survived by two daughters, Cleo A. Farris and Pauline K. (Gary) Wilcox, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Evansdale.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice in Waterloo, St. Mark's UMC or a charity of the donor's choice.
