CEDAR FALLS - Joseph P. McCullough, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Dec. 9, at Western Home Communities Windhaven.

He was born July 28, 1920, in Midland, Pa., son of Carl D. and Mary G. Dublin McCullough. He married Dorothy M. Entz July 8, 1943, in Tacoma, Wash. She died Nov. 4, 2005.

Mr. McCullough graduated from Alexian Brothers Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago in 1942. He was a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated as a registered nurse anesthetist from The School of Anesthesia at Norwegian American Hospitals in 1946. He was employed with Sartori Memorial Hospital from 1946-85, was secretary-treasurer and president of Iowa Association of Nurse Anesthetists, trustee and treasurer of the AANA, and was past president of Cedar Falls Lions Club.

Survived by two sons, Michael of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Thomas (Susan) of Woodstock, Ga.; three daughters, Patricia (John) Annear of Englewood, Colo., Barbara Virden of Waukee and Kathleen Hahn of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn P. Browne.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, with a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Western Home Foundation, the church, or Cedar Valley Hospice.
