WATERLOO - James L. Christensen, 71, of Walker, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, Nov. 29.

He was born Oct. 7, 1940, in Iowa City, son of Mouritz and Blanche Miller Christensen.

Mr. Christensen served with the U.S. Army from 1959-62. He worked for the Cedar Rapids Country Club for 20 years and retired from Cottage Grove.

Survived by two daughters, Julie of Cedar Falls and Amy Kolpek of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; eight siblings, Karen (Don) Ham, Virginia Wahl, Maurice, Delorias (Bud) Morrison, Gladys Hirsch, Patricia Landt, Gerda Hirsch and Don (Marilyn); and his best friend, Marty.

Preceded in death by and a sister, Donna.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Walker.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

He was a loving father and will be greatly missed.
