WATERLOO - Darlene Nagel, 80, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Nov. 19, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, following a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 17, 1931, in Waterloo, daughter of Harvey and Blossom Yockey Turner. She married Curtis Nagel on Sept. 17, 1950; they divorced in 1970.

Ms. Nagel graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1949. She worked in the cafeterias at John Deere, Venda Foods, American Black Hawk Co., and retired from the Department of Corrections.

Survived by a daughter, Lou (Jon) Guetz-laff of Janesville; a son, Mark of Waterloo; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Karlee Nagel; and a sister, Delores McCool.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, where visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
