WATERLOO - Levern E. Knight, 91, of Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Monday, Nov. 14.

He was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Cedar Falls, son of Milo M. and Alta Sturch Knight. He married Josephine Blackburn on Jan. 6, 1944, in Long Beach, Calif. She died March 27, 2001.

Mr. Knight served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was employed with the City of Cedar Falls as a building inspector.

Survived by three nieces, Cheryl (Theodore) Ostrowski of Cedar Falls, Melva Gray of Waterloo and Anita Russell of Raymond; and six great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a brother, Carl; and two sisters, Florence Russell and an infant.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Service and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice or charity of donor's choice.
