CEDAR FALLS - Robert R. Wildman, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Nov. 7, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born July 19, 1923, in Cresco, son of Albert and Bess Buffton Wildman. He married Marilyn Peterson on Nov. 27, 1948, in Cresco.

Mr. Wildman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an insurance agent for many years and worked at John Deere & Co. for 12 years.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Roberta (Randy) Schmidt of Cedar Falls, Deborah (Brian) Sampson of Nevada and Jan (Rick) Roberts of Janesville; eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Kerry, Kristopher, Alexandra, Bryce, Jason, Molly and Lindsey; four great-grandchildren, William, Elizabeth, Natalee and Brooklyn; and a sister, Dora (Robert) Layton of Indialantic, Fla.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kim Allan; two brothers, Howard and John; and a sister, Verna Carlson.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial at 2 p.m. in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Cresco. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for an hour before services Friday at the church. Military honors will be conducted by Cresco American Legion Post 135.

A memorial fund will be established.
