WATERLOO - Gordon L. Miller, 88, of Waterloo, formerly of rural Dunkerton, died Friday, Oct. 14, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Dunkerton, son of Carl G. and Amy Magee Miller. He married Maxine Beck May 26, 1946, at Waterloo First United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1940, and received an accounting degree from Gates College in Waterloo in 1942. Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific from 1942-45. The couple farmed north of Dunkerton, and he owned and operated Gordon L. Miller Accounting in Waverly, retiring in 1993. He was member of the Readlyn V.F.W and the Denver American Legion.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Marlene Hoskins of Denver and Connie (Dale) Whaley of Gladbrook; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Miller of Dunkerton; five grandchildren, Gina, Bryan, Aaron, Brooke and Quiten; and five great-grandchildren, Dalten, Shea, Quinn, Logan and Madison.

Preceded in death by a brother; and a son, Douglas G.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Waterloo First United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton. Military Rites at the grave will be conducted by Readlyn V.F.W. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
