CEDAR FALLS - Leo R. "Pat" Einck, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Oct. 10, at Manor Care Health Services, Waterloo.

He was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Festina, son of Joseph and Catherine Huinker Einck. He married Bernice Ameling on April 11, 1959, at St. Luke's, St. Lucas.

Mr. Einck was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at John Deere for 32 years, retiring in 1987.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Gary (Becky) of Peoria, Ariz., and Scott of Parkersburg; a daughter, Karla (Pat) Pierson of Cambridge; five granddaughters, Raine Allen, Nicole Einck and Sydney, Paige and Allie Pierson; seven sisters-in-law, Freda Einck of Decorah, Rita Lou Einck of Waterloo, Marcella Wurzer of New Hampton, Arlene Huinker of Calmar, Colette Ameling of West Union, Alma Ameling of St. Lucas and Ida Ameling of Fort Atkinson; and a brother-in-law, Dale Ott of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by five brothers, Edwin, Herbert, Jerome, Leander and Leroy; and three sisters, Lorraine Schrandt, Rose Nathem and Helen Ott.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
