WATERLOO - Ruth B. Isley, 74, of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 23, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

She was born Feb. 25, 1937, in New Hartford, daughter of John G. and Annie Kappel Mehman. She married James F. "Jim" Isley Nov. 10, 1956, in Cedar Falls. He died June 21, 1999.

She graduated form Cedar Falls High School in 1954. Mrs. Isley was a legal secretary and a teacher assistant/secretary for Addison and Central schools in Waterloo before retirement.

Survived by a son, Jody Jay of Lockridge; a daughter, Julie Ann of Waterloo; and a sister, Joan (Jack) Miller of Aplington.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Rogers and Darlene Block; and a brother in infancy.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
