WATERLOO - Howard C. Easter, 94, of Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Lakeview Landing Health Center in Waterloo.

He was born June 5, 1917, in Cedar Falls, son of Ersie and Leda Mattingly Easter. He married Mary Brinley in 1941 in Cedar Falls.

He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College Campus School, Iowa State Teachers College and pursued graduate studies at the University of Michigan. Mr. Easter served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a band teacher for several years, a sales representative for Evans Corp, and a jazz pianist with Howy Curtis Trio Band.

Survived by his wife; a son, Larry of Pasadena, Calif.; and a brother, Marvin of Columbus, Ohio.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo.
