WATERLOO - Velma S. Homann, 83, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Covenant Medical Center. She was born Feb. 20, 1928, on the farm in Black Hawk County, daughter of Carl and Sarah Doepke Faust.

She married Edgar W. Homann on Dec. 30, 1945, in Waverly. He died Nov. 5, 2009. Mrs. Homann was a homemaker.

Survived by: three sons, Loren (Janyce) of Cedar Falls, Ray (Karen) of Hudson and David (Mona) of Waterloo; a daughter, Joyce (Scott) Hancock of Centennial, Colo.; six grandchildren, Tammy Adams, Jim (Deana) Homann, Brock Homann, Tonya (John) Richards, Tricia (Gloria) Homann and Nicole Hancock; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a great-granddaughter, Kendra Homann; a brother, Lorenz Faust; and a sister, Edna Hildebrandt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Chapel, with inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hagarty–Waychoff–Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
