Virginia Ann Thoms, age 30, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 26, 1978 in Waterloo, the daughter of Duane R. and Leita J. (Malfeld) Thoms. She graduated from Waterloo West High School.

Virginia enjoyed watching soap operas on television with her mother. She also liked to socialize with her friends and go shopping.

Survivors include her father, Duane, of Waterloo; a sister, Melissa Thoms of Cedar Falls; a nephew, Clayton Thoms and a niece, Kaitlyn Thoms, both of Cedar Falls; her maternal grandmother, Ann Malfeld of Melbourne, IA and her paternal grandparents, Ray and Grace Thoms of Reinbeck, IA.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leita on August 5, 2008 and her maternal grandfather, Larry Malfeld.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, September 15, 2008 at Logan Cemetery, rural Melbourne, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday, September 13 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball in Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
