LOEFFELHOLTZ, KING, NIZYNSKI, JACKWAY, FINE, HANSEN

WATERLOO, IOWA - Donald R. Loeffelholtz, age 64, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa, with his children at this side.

He was born Aug. 14, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Joyce (King) Loeffelholtz. Don graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1965. Following graduation he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea. Don was a gifted carpenter, and worked in that trade his entire life, until his retirement in 2009.

Don is survived by his daughter, Melissa Loeffelholtz of Verona, Wis.; and son, Paul Loeffelholtz of Ridgeway, Wis.; his sisters, Terri Nizynski of Phoenix and Becky Jackway of Mandan, N.D.; a brother, Robert Loeffelholtz of Barneveld, Wis. He is also survived by his very special friend, Jean Barber of Waterloo, Iowa. Don was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Linda Fine and Peggy Hansen.

Don loved the Packers, helping others with carpentry projects and having a beer with his friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the EAGLES CLUB, 201 E. 1st St., Waterloo, Iowa. A gathering and lunch to follow. If desired, memorials may be sent to Don's family. Melissa, Paul and Jean wish to thank Cindy, Cathy, Lynette, Bridget and the other wonderful people at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
