Betty J. McAhren, 80, of Waterloo, died Sunday, October 19, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born March 17, 1928 in New Hampton, daughter of Oscar and Stella Ross Randall. She married Wayne H. McAhren January 5, 1946 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2005.

Survivors include four sons, David (Judy) McAhren of Waterloo, Ronnie McAhren of Waterloo, Robert McAhren of Waterloo, and Jim (Tammy) McAhren of Waterloo; two daughters, Linda (Kevin) Brown of Andover, Minnesota, and Kathy McAhren of Glendale, Arizona; five brothers, Glenn (Lucille) Randall of Dike, Bob Randall of New Hampton, Oscar "Junior" Randall of Waverly, Larry (Erma) Randall of Minnesota, and Duane Randall of New Hampton; five sisters, Arlene (Roy) Peterson of Eugene, Oregon, Shirley Swietzer of New Hampton, Joan (Tim) Wood of Waverly, Marilyn (Marvin) Njuis of New Hampton, Connie (Chuck) Spencer of Lawler, and Diane (Steve) Olsen of Charles City; nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Kenneth Randall and three sisters, Darlene McAhren, Lois Scholbrook, and Marjorie Freese.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Burton Avenue Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel and one hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
