WATERLOO - Elsie Elnora Hayes, 99, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born March 2, 1912, in Charles City, daughter of Everett and Violet Baumgardner Jordan. She married James L. "Hazy" Hayes on April 17, 1933, in Waterloo. He died Oct. 22, 2004.

Mrs. Hayes worked as a seamstress for Hinson Manufacturing Co., and also was a driver for the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier for 25 years.

Survived by three sons, James K. (Donna) of Peoria, Ariz., and Don (Lou) and Timothy, both of Waterloo; a daughter, Connie (David) Hackett of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Jordan of Waterloo; and a sister, Peggy Clark of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Russell; a sister, Alice Hoffman; two brothers, Tom and Everett Jordan; and two grandchildren, Tony and Martin Hayes.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
