WATERLOO - Berenice Dietz Patten, 95, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Cresco, daughter of Henry and Edith Callaghan Kemp. She married Wallace L. Dietz Sr. on Dec. 8, 1934, in Waterloo. He died Oct. 27, 1958. She married Carl Patten on July 28, 1962, in Nashua. He died Aug. 3, 1971.

Mrs. Patten was employed with Webbeking Bakery for many years and was active with the Eagles Auxiliary.

Survived by two daughters, Patty (Jack) Jennings of Waterloo and Karen (Bill) Bergan of Ames; two sons, Wally (Becky) Dietz and Dennis (Barb) Dietz, both of Waterloo; a stepdaughter-in-law, Cheryl Patten of Jesup; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Kemp of Iowa City.

Preceded in death by a stepson, Jim Patten; two sisters, Clementine Jeffries and Alice Kemp; and two brothers, Edward and Clarence Kemp.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Ravenwood.
