Herald R. Bensing, age 92, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, in Sun City West, Ariz. Herald was surrounded by his loving wife, Alice, of 70 years, and his son, Randy. A daughter, Janet, resides in Waterloo.

Herald was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Waterloo, where he resided with his family until his retirement. He owned a mechanical business and upon selling it, later worked for John Deere for 10 years. Retirement brought them to Arizona 15 years ago.

Herald was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a 33rd Degree Mason.
