CEDAR FALLS - Eunice "Noonie" Doris Nelson, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Aug. 14, at home.

She was born June 10, 1922, in rural Parkersburg, daughter of Bernard and Gretta DeGroote Folkers. She married Hugh G. Nelson on Oct. 26, 1940, in Waterloo. He died Feb. 8, 1990.

Survived by three daughters, Karen (Bill) Adams of Crystal Springs, Miss., Nyleta (Vince) Bernard of Cedar Falls and Sheryl (Chuck) Sanders of Davenport; a son, Brent (Sue) of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verla (Chuck) Norris of Parkersburg and Sandy (Burns) Gruenewaldt of San Antonio; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, and also for an hour before services Friday at the church.
