CEDAR FALLS - Betty L. Weikert, 85, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Cedar Falls, daughter of F.E. and Dagmar Iversen Jones. She married J. Roy Weikert on July 1, 1948, in Eldon, Mo. He died Jan. 24, 2004.

Mrs. Weikert graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1943 and was the bookkeeper with Jones DX in Cedar Falls, which she co-owned with her husband for 38 years, retiring in 1988. Through the years she also was employed with Israel Menswear in Cedar Falls. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, American Legion Auxiliary and Cedar Falls Chapter 78 OES.

Survived by two sons, Jerry of Kirkland, Wash., and Rod (Kellie) of West Des Moines; and two grandchildren, Emily Weikert of Denver, Colo., and Joel Weikert of West Des Moines.

Preceded in death by a sister, Fonda Arenholz.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Service, where there will be a 7 p.m. OES service. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or memorial of donor's choice.
