WATERLOO - George N. Hayden, 92, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Aug. 8, of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Montour Falls, N.Y., son of Norman and Louise Aldridge Hayden. He married Betty Lou Barnett in 1941 in Rochester, Ind., and they later divorced. He then married Eunice Huber in 1961 in St. Petersburg, Fla., and they later divorced. He then married Dorothy Smith.

Mr. Hayden served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Asiatic and Pacific theaters. He was an inspector craftsman at Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife; a son Dennis (Lorretta) of North Carolina; a daughter, Cynthia Lou (David) Lyons of Waterloo; two stepsons, Richard and James Smith, both of Waterloo; three stepdaughters, Ruth (Wayne) Thoren, Sharrie Morrow and Linda (Denis) Morrow, all of New Hartford; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister; June (Dick) Sanders of Cooperville, Tenn.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Vincent, Jack and Tom; a sister, Betty Quick; and a son-in-law, Scott Morrow.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today and an hour before services Wednesday at the chapel.
