EVANSDALE - David Donald "Dave" Barber, 73, of Evansdale, died Sunday, Aug. 7, at home.

He was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Waterloo, son of Donald and Thelma Manson Barber. He married Judy Castile in 1985, and they later divorced.

Mr. Barber was a retired truck driver.

Survived by his former wife; four daughters, Vanessa Puckett and Teressa (Pao) Xiong, both of Waterloo, Kim (Dan) Rice of Washburn and Donna Barber of Evansdale; five sons, Dave (Marie) Weise of Cedar Rapids, Mark (Kim) Myers of Paullina, Tom (Melissa) Barber of Waterloo, Jim (Dwana) Barber of Kingston, Okla., and Everett Vibbert of Louisville, Ky.; 35 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard of Waterloo and Charles of Minnesota.

Preceded in death by a son, Victor B.; a granddaughter; and three sisters.

Family-directed memorial Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Kug's Bar and Grill, 3420 Lafayette Road, Evansdale, followed by visitation with the family. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, is assisting the family.
