CEDAR FALLS - Michael P. "Mike" Porter, 56, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Aug. 4, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

He was born June 12, 1955, in Cedar Falls, son of James J. and Grayce E. Kennedy Porter. He married Holly Green Feb. 26, 1977, in Cedar Falls, and they later divorced.

Mr. Porter was employed as a service rep for Northland Environmental Products.

Survived by two sons, Ben and Jesse, both of Cedar Falls; four brothers, Bill (Sandy) of Cedar Falls, Bob (Anne) of Nevada, Kenny (Melinda) of California and John (Bobbie) of Cedar Falls; five sisters, Jean (Harold) Younglut of Waterloo, Suzanne Jenson of California, Mary (Harlan) Lynn of Winthrop, Joy (Denny Burk) Schmidt and Cindy (Tom) Giberson of Cedar Falls; and a special friend, Polly Loveland of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment at a later date. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Service, and also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mike Porter lived his life like most people vacationed.
