CEDAR FALLS - Frances Daws, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Aug. 4, at Western Home Communities Stanard Family Assisted Living.

She was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Cardington, Ohio, daughter of William and Myrtle Taylor Conaway. She married Donald Daws May 11, 1948 in Denver, Colo. He died Jan. 19, 1973.

Mrs. Daws was a nurse in the U.S. Army Medical Corp during World War II. She received her RN and BS in nursing from University of Cincinnati in Ohio and was a registered nurse with Sartori Hospital, Western Home and Friendship Village, retiring in 1985.

Survived by a daughter, Faith of Fort Dodge; four sons, William (Pamela) of Burlington, Don (Ann) of Cedar Rapids, Thomas (Pamela) of Tucson, Ariz., and Charles (Kris) of Bluffton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by a brother, Ward Conaway; three sisters, Dorothy Buell, Leona Bingman and Ruth Westbrook.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, and also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Western Home Foundation.
