Mary "Jane" Allee, age 78, of Waterloo, formerly of Belle Plaine, Nevada and Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Rosewood Estate in Waterloo. Memorial Services: 2:30 p.m. Sunday July 31, 2011, at Kloster Funeral Home in Marengo, Iowa with Pastor Kevin Wilkening officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo. The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mary Jane Gould was born on May 10, 1933, in rural Iowa County to Isaiah "Ike" Freeman and Mildred Yvonne Buswell Gould. She attended Conroy Consolidated School in Conroy, Iowa, and also Honey Creek Township No. 9 schools. She received her high school diploma from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa. She furthered her education by attending adult classes in typing, Spanish, accounting and horticulture.

Jane worked as a sales clerk at Hildman's Variety Store in Marengo, Iowa. She then worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids where she worked on the line building part of ARC 27 radio (for airplanes) for eight months and then went to quality control. Following this, she worked at Bourns Inc. in Ames, Iowa, where she also worked in quality control. Later, she was a co-owner of Aerial Services.

She married Paul Glen Allee on Oct. 23, 1953, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. This union was blessed with three children: Debbie, Randy, and Cindy.

Jane conducted tours at the "Lil Red Schoolhouse," part of the Cedar Falls Historical Society, volunteered at the Arboretum near Hawkeye Community College and was a bookkeeper and editor for the Shrine Club. She was a member of the Auxiliary at the Waterloo El Kahir Shrine Club, and the Cedar Falls Women's Club. She also helped with Green Scene plant sales. She was a master gardener, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her children: Debbie (Craig "Zeke") Ziemer of Waterloo, Iowa; Randy (Pam) Allee of Muscatine; and Cindy (Timothy Sr.) Perry of Richmond, Va.; eight grandchildren: Melissa (Brent) Griffin of Cedar Falls; Ryan Larrabee of Waterloo; Justin (Elizabeth) Allee of Muscatine; Jillian (Allen) Poppe of Muscatine; Jessee Perry of Richmond, Va.; Timothy Perry Jr. of Richmond, Va.; Jason Kastli of Cedar Falls; and Sarah (Eric) Mathis of Urbana; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Joan Ann Gould and Marilyn Mae Gould-Bartling, and a brother who died in infancy.
