WATERLOO - Jerald "Jerry" William Baxter, 47, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 22, at Allen Hospital.

He was born Nov. 16, 1963, in Cedar Falls, son of Kenneth LeRoy and Arlene Jane Adams Baxter. He married Elaine Silampa in September 1982 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. They later divorced.

Mr. Baxter served in the Iowa National Guard for two years. He installed satellite dishes for Davis Electronics in Waterloo, and sold produce at both the Cedar Falls and Waverly Farmers Markets.

Survived by two daughters, Samantha "Sam" Rae Ralls of Waverly and Terasa Marie (Jon) Schell of Waterloo; six grandchildren; a brother, James (Julie) of Waterloo; and a sister, Jane (Jim) Johnson of Elk Run Heights.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Craig Allen and John Paul; and a sister in infancy, Julia Mae.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
