CEDAR FALLS -Stanley E. Durbin, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, July 18, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born April 30, 1932, in Des Moines, son of Elmer and Ruby Merriam Durbin. He married Gean Gersema May 22, 1964, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Durbin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in 1957, and was employed with Cedar Falls Utilities as a civil engineer and land surveyor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Shelly (Brian) Arntson of Cedar Falls; three sons, Terry (Chris) of Lakeville, Minn., Troy (Laura Richards) of Littleton, Colo., and Ryan (Natalia Cherjovsky) of Iowa City; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
