Falls Family Dies

Was Born in City in May
of 1856; Funeral Rites on Thursday

Cedar Falls—Mrs. Charles Harrington 76, widow of a Civil war veteran and one of the oldest surviving native-born Cedar Falls residents, died at 1:30 a. m. Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Anna Gregg, 814 Bluff street. She had been a patient there, suffering from heart disease and complications, for some time. She had been in frail health several years. Her own residence was 229 First Street West.

She was born here May 8, 1856, as Delia M. Harrington. She was married to Charles Harrington, who died 45 years ago.

One son, Charles, of Carbondale, Illinois, survives. Another son, John, died a few weeks ago at his home in Corinth, Miss. Other survivors are a brother, Grant Harrlngton, and nephew, Frank, both of Cedar Falls, and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p. m. Thursday at Brown's chapel. Rev. W. J. Diegelman, pastor of the Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be in the mausoleum at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Harrington was formerly a leader in work of the Baptist church here. She also held membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Woman's Relief corps here.
