WATERLOO - Mary M. Finger, 80, of Bridges Retirement Community, formerly of Lake Delhi, died Monday, July 11, at Allen Hospital, of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Clayton County, daughter of George and Florence Peake Allman. She married Norman Finger May 6, 1949, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died July 13, 2009.

Mrs. Finger graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1948, and had worked for 10 years as secretary at Tate Cadillac Olds until 1987. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Manchester, and was former state president of the Rural Letter Carriers Association.

Survived by a son, David (Ann) of Ankeny; two daughters, Cindy (Frank Eisermann) Hay and Gail (Jay Neptune) Finger, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Berneice Finger of Chanhassen, Minn., and Frances Swicegood of Woodbury, Minn.

Preceded in death by a sister, Doris Eivins; and a brother, Elmer Allman.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Manchester, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.
