WATERLOO - LeRoy T. Saveraid, 73, of Lorimor, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, July 11, at Madison County Health Care System, Winterset.

He was born April 11, 1938, in Red Oak, son of Walter and Juanita Penry Saveraid. He married Mildred Ennenga in 1961, and they later divorced. He later married Donna Ostercamp on March 31, 1984, in Waterloo.

Mr. Saveraid graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1957. He was a truck driver with his dad for a number of years, and a contract hauler for the Postal Service, before working for Rock Island Millwork from 1969 to 1981. He was a contract hauler for the Des Moines Register from 1974 to 1980 and was most recently a self-employed carpenter. He attended the First Baptist Church, Winterset, and was founder of the Covered Bridges of Madison County Tractor Rides.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Pam (Brian) Baker of Waterloo and Megan Saveraid (Mark Banes) of Winterset; three sons, Lee of Des Moines, Mark of Waterloo and Curtis (Jami) of Winterset; two grandchildren; two sisters, Norma (Manly) Orum of Waterloo and Juanita (Roger) Kottman of Illinois; and a brother, Palmer of Florida.

Preceded in death by a brother, Wayne.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Winterset, with burial in Winterset Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, Winterset, with family present 6 to 8 p.m.
